Microsanj, LLC was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley (Santa Clara, California). The company designs and manufactures thermoreflectance (TR) and infrared (IR) based thermal imaging systems for semiconductor device characterization and failure analysis.

Company milestones:

  • 2007 — Founded in Santa Clara, California.
  • 2009 — Released the NT210, the first commercially available thermoreflectance-based thermal imaging system.
  • 2012 — Formed a collaborative relationship with Thermal Engineering Associates (TEA) and Package Science Services (PSS), together known as the MDaM Group.
  • 2012–2022 — Built out a global distribution network, with technical and sales support now available in Asia, Europe, Israel, Brazil, Canada, and the United States.
  • 2014 — Introduced the NT310 for near-IR thermal imaging and the NT410A, offering 800 ps time resolution and submicron spatial resolution.
  • 2022 — Added TransientCAL™ calibration, Hyperspectral Imaging, and 3D Nano-align features; the product line grew to four transient thermal imaging (TTI) system families.

Microsanj has more than 50 papers published and presented at conferences worldwide, and serves more than 75 customers globally. As of 2022, the company was marking its 15th anniversary.

Microsanj's SanjSCOPE™ thermal imaging platform spans three system families, all built on the company's embedded SanjVIEW™, SanjIMAGER™, and SanjANALYZER™ software:

  • EZ-THERM™ series (EZ500 platform) — A modular, portable bench-top thermal imager that connects to an existing test station, supporting up to 3 sensors (TR and IR) simultaneously, with 50 µs or 5 µs transient resolution.
  • NanoTherm series (NT220 series) — A nanosecond transient thermal imager supporting up to 3 sensors in dual TR + IR mode, with 50 ns transient resolution and pixel-by-pixel calibration.
  • PicoTherm series (PT410) — An ultra-fast picosecond transient thermal imager for thermal research analysis, with 800 ps transient resolution and a 300–1060 nm spectral range.
